Your first class and ongoing training experience.
Your First Class
Arrival & Welcome
Arrive 15 minutes early to meet your instructor and get fitted for equipment.
Warm-up & Stretching
Begin with a thorough warm-up to prepare your body for training.
Basic Techniques
Learn fundamental stances, strikes, and movements in a safe environment.
Cool Down & Discussion
End with stretching and a discussion about your experience and next steps.
Training Progression
No Kyu - White Belt
Introduction to Kudo fundamentals. Learn basic stances, strikes, and movements. Focus on safety and proper form.
10th & 9th Kyu - Purple Belt
Develop basic striking combinations and fundamental grappling positions. Introduction to controlled sparring.
8th & 7th Kyu - Blue Belt
Master intermediate techniques and combinations. Begin regular sparring practice and learn advanced grappling.
6th & 5th Kyu - Yellow Belt
Advanced striking and grappling techniques. Complex combinations and tactical sparring. Introduction to teaching.
4th & 3rd Kyu - Green Belt
Expert level techniques and competition preparation. Advanced teaching opportunities and leadership roles.
2nd & 1st Kyu - Brown Belt
Master level techniques and comprehensive understanding of Kudo. Senior teaching responsibilities and competition excellence.
Dan Ranks - Black Belt
The culmination of Kudo training. Dan ranks represent mastery, teaching excellence, and dedication to the art. Each Dan level brings new responsibilities and deeper understanding.
